In Hawaii, people don’t sit and have
a conversation, they sit and
in the
language
of the Islands, “talk story.” Storytelling,
like “talking story,” is way
of connecting deeply with another, of sharing, and of having
a really good time. Stories capture the essence of any
culture and that through story, we can find bridges to
understanding, compassion for ourselves and others, and
appreciation for our differences.
As we walk our path and grow into the beings
that we are to become, we encounter experiences that are
mystical, magical, and life affirming. We also encounter
experiences that are painful, traumatic, and life denying.
